We watch football here

This conversation just happened with my 3-year old before I even realized what I was saying:

Coop: I'll bring you the remote control and you can change it to one of my shows.
Me: (while washing dishes) No. We're not going to change the channel.
Coop: Why not?
Me: Because football is on. And when football is on, we watch it.
Coop: Why?
Me: Because we live in America.
